Delete your SKILLS account and personal data — in the app or by email. No login required to read this page.
You can delete your SKILLS Trade account and your personal data at any time. This page explains how — both inside the app and by email — what gets deleted, what we may keep and why, and how long it takes. You do not need to be logged in to read this page.
Delete your account in the app
The fastest way to delete your account and associated data is from within the SKILLS app:
- Open the SKILLS app on iOS or Android.
- Go to Profile (or Settings).
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm when prompted.
This permanently deletes your account and the personal data associated with it, including cascaded data such as your Compliance Vault documents (insurance certificates, licenses, certifications, W-9 / tax documents, and safety-training records).
If you can't access the app
If you are unable to sign in or use the app, you can request deletion by email:
- Email hello@skillstrade.app from the email address on your account.
- Use the subject line "Account deletion request."
- Include your name and your organization (company) name so we can locate the account.
We will verify your request — typically by confirming you control the account's email address — before we delete anything, so that no one can delete your account but you.
What gets deleted
When your deletion is processed, we remove your personal data, including:
- Your account and login identity (name, email, and phone number if you used phone sign-in);
- Your business profile information (company name, address, trades, crew info, links, and logo);
- Your Compliance Vault documents and any compliance/verification status you shared;
- Your messages, postings, offers, and other content you created, except as noted below.
What we may keep, and why
For legitimate and legally required reasons, we may retain a limited amount of information after your account is deleted, for only as long as necessary. This can include records needed to:
- Comply with the law — including tax, accounting, and other legal or regulatory obligations;
- Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements, including marketplace transaction and Work Agreement records and audit history tied to deals you completed with other businesses;
- Prevent fraud and abuse and keep the platform safe.
Where we retain such records, we keep only what is necessary, restrict access to it, and delete or de-identify it when it is no longer needed. Some content you shared with other businesses (for example, a message you sent, or a completed Work Agreement record the other party also holds) may remain associated with their account and records.
How long it takes
We process verified deletion requests within 30 days of receipt. Backups are cycled out on a rolling basis after that. We will let you know when your deletion is complete.
Device permissions
Deleting your account does not change your device's permission settings. You can separately revoke camera, photo, location, and microphone permissions at any time in your device's settings.
